How I can help you

Most of my career was spent in international business. I worked for Hobart Corporation (which became a subsidiary of Dart & Kraft, Premark Intl. and Illinois Tool Works successively) for 32 years. I was regional manager for Latin America, with responsibility for our distributor sales in the region. In 1986 I was transferred to San Juan, Puerto Rico as general manager of our sales and service office there. In 1992 I moved to Mexico City to restructure our subsidiary operation there to expand our existing business, develop and implement policies to manage the business more effectively and profitably and provide superior service to Mexican and international businesses (such as Walmart) as they established and expanded operations in the country using Hobart equipment. In 1999 I relocated to Miami as Vice President of Latin America with responsibility for those two subsidiaries as well as our business in São Paulo, Brazil, where we had a small manufacturing operation, Bogotá, Colombia and Guatemala City. My overall responsibility was in the range of $60 million in revenue with consistent profitability in the range of 20%. I had a staff of 8 direct reports responsible for about 250 employees. I believe that my strengths have been in team building, mentoring, simplification of operations, conservative business practices, long term vision and a strong ethical framework, even with the difficulties inherent in doing business in Latin America.
